This book introduces Pali grammar from the start, but its grammatical sections are very dense. Ven. Bhikkhu Bodhi suggests students work through the Pali Primer first. The New Course is designed to introduce the student to the reading of Pali texts. It draws upon short suttas, mostly from the Aṅguttara Nikāya, and verses mainly from the Dhammapada.
