Ullambana Ceremony is a day of giving hands to those beings who are suffering so they can obtain liberation. In the Ullambana Sutra (佛說盂蘭盆經) of the Mahayana Vehicle talks about the foremost spiritual powers of one of Buddha’s disciple, Ven. Mahamaudgalyayana.
The Ceremony has now become a culturally celebration in the Buddhist tradition and a day upon which anyone can rescue one’s parents of seven lives past. The Temple of Enlightenment is holding this almsgiving ceremony to help deliver blessings for the deceased parents, relatives, friends and the beloved ones by making offering to the Sangha in the forms of donations, food, daily needs, clothing, etc.
We welcome and invite you to share these benefits and to celebrate our Ullambana Ceremony on August 14, 2016 at 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.
Participants can also set up a longevity and/or memorial tablets to delivery blessings and merits for friends, family members and the loved ones. The merits accrued from these acts of filial piety and devotion will be dedicated to all and those of the previous seven live to repay their parental kindness. May your family members be blessed from this merit.
