The Chuang Yen Monastery will be celebrating Vesak with a Dharma service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on May 21, 2023. We will recite the Sutra on the Merit of Bathing the Buddha and make a Grand Meal Offering to the Buddhas. We invite you to sponsor the lighting of a blessing lamp or to participate in other blessing or memorial services. We cordially invite all to participate in person at Great Buddha Hall, to share the benefits, and to jointly wish for world peace and prosperity!

十佛名號 Recollection of the Ten Attributes of the Buddha (Represent the characteristics of Buddha)
- Tathāgata 如來 – the Thus Come Ones
- Arhat 應供 – The Worthy (of offerings) One
- Saṃyak-saṃbuddha 正偏知 – The Rightly Self-Awakened One (of proper and universal knowledge)
- Vidyacaraṇa-Saṃpaṇṇa 明行足 – Perfect in Knowledge and Conduct
- Sugata 善逝 – Well- Gone (skillful in leaving the world through liberation)
- Lokavid 也間解 – Knower of Worlds
- Anuttarā 無上士 – Incomparable Leader of Men
- Purusa-damya-sarathi 調御大夫 – The Doctor (skillful in taming people)
- Sastā deva-manuṣyanam 天人師 – Teachers of Gods and Humans
- Buddha-lokanātha or Bhagavat 佛世尊 – Buddha, the World Honored One, the Enlightened / Awakened One, the Blessed One
