This book club is focusing on studying Mahayana Buddhist Texts. We are currently reading one of the most early Mahayana Sutras, the Maharatnakuta Sutra – a collection of 49 sutras. It was translated into Chinese in the 8th Century, and then the Buddhist Association of the United States (BAUS) translated the Treasure’s million words into English in 1983. We will take up Sutra 43 (Wisdom Paramita) and Sutra 5 (Pure land) at an unhurried pace to allow “text explanation” and “open discussion” in each session. Study facilitators: Mr. Henry Chang, Mr. Wayne Chang, Mr. Bruce Kou, Mr. Gary Link, Mr. Simon Yang. All of whom have been long time students of Mahayana Buddhism. Books are available.
