The four protective meditations are a group of meditation topics designed to establish a firm foundation for growth in the Dhamma. The four are: recollection of the Buddha, meditation on loving-kindness, mindfulness of the bodily parts, and recollection of death. Over four Saturdays in August, Ven. We will start at 9:00 am with a half-hour silent meditation. At 9:30 am Ven. Bodhi will give a talk on the selected meditation subject, followed by a guided meditation until 11:20 am. After a short Q & A session, we will break for lunch. We will resume at 1:00 pm and continue practicing the selected meditation topic until 3:30 pm, followed by a short Q & A session ending at 3:45 pm.
