The story in the Vinaya Pitaka is a reminder of the importance of patience and perseverance in the Buddhist path. The monks had to wait for several months before they could see the Buddha, but they did not give up. They continued to practice diligently, even though their robes were dirty and torn. The Buddha was impressed by their dedication and gave them new robes. This act of generosity is a reminder of the importance of giving in the Buddhist tradition. It is also a reminder of the Buddha’s compassion for all beings, regardless of their social status. The tradition of giving new robes to monks and nuns is a beautiful and meaningful one. It is a reminder of the Buddha’s teachings, of the importance of community, and of the power of generosity.
