觀音菩薩出家紀念法會通啟
A Ceremony in Commemoration of
the Ordination of the Bodhisattva Kuan-Yin
敬啟者：
本寺謹訂於2019年10月13日10:00am ~ 12:15pm假大佛殿舉行觀音菩薩成道紀念法會，法會當日恭誦《觀世音菩薩普門品》及佛前大供；敬設消災拔度牌位及設齋供眾，歡迎闔府蒞寺同霑法益。
觀世音菩薩在過去久遠劫前早已成佛，名為「正法明如來」，為度眾生而倒駕慈航現菩薩身，在西方極樂世界幫助阿彌陀佛弘揚佛法，也到他方世界去廣度眾生，十方世界無處不遍、無處不有，應以何身得度者，即現何身而為說法，尤其與娑婆世界的眾生特別有緣，其發了大心，凡是有苦惱的眾生稱其名號，他就隨時現前，故名觀世音；又名觀自在，謂自利利人皆能得大自在也。

Dear friends,
Chuang Yen Monastery will commemorate the Ordination of the Bodhisattva Kuan-Yin on October 13, 2019 at the Great Buddha Hall from 10:00 am to 12:15 pm. The event for that day includes the chanting of the sutra The Universal Door of Kuan Yin Bodhisattva and making offerings to the Buddha. Participants are encouraged to make donations to receive blessings for themselves or for deliverance of the deceased and to sponsor vegetarian meals for fellow participants.
It is believed that Kuan Yin Bodhisattva attained Buddhahood infinite kalpas ago and was named “The Tathagatha of the Brightness of True Dharma.” Filled with great compassion to help others, he decided to manifest as a Bodhisattva. Kuan Yin will appear in any form in accordance with the needs of the beings who need his instruction. That is why he is called “Kuan Yin,” which means, “The Observer of the sights and sounds of the world.”
